PAULA GAMMON WILSON
From 1994-2012*, I worked as a stage manager, production manager, dancer/choreographer, teacher, writer, actress, and voice over artist all over the world. That rather peripatetic background laid the groundwork for my work as Director of Pepsqually VO. Here's a taste of some of the first 15+ years of my professional life.
*I still dance, teach, and choreograph regularly. If I'm not directing, you can find me in the dance studio!

"Simpson also provides a pair of alter egos for her main character in the form of a narrator ("N," played with great warmth by Paula Wilson) and a "creative force" ("G," seen first as Gregor Samsa and later as an aspect of Kafka himself, performed forcefully by Brian Nishii). This device makes for some really arresting stagecraft, as when Felice plays her first "love scene" not with Franz but with "N," here serving as another kind of mask, depicting another kind of illusion." - Review of "The Great Conjurer" - NYTheatre.com - October 28, 2006.
"Characters crash over one another like a multi-car pileup: you can’t not watch... Paula Wilson (N) speaks with eloquence and understanding, using Kafka’s words to seduce the world around her..." - Review of "The Great Conjurer" - New Theater Corps - October 22, 2006.
"All of the actors do good work here. Catherine Jhung, Nancy Kim, Kerry Mantle, Arlando Smith, and Paula Wilson are a cohesive on-stage family of their own, each one giving a strong performance. De Silva and Purohit direct with loving care, providing a lovely array of movement, dance, group tableaux, and slide projections that augment the show's theme." - Review of "American Theater Project" - NYTheatre.com. March 2, 2007.
"... Paula Wilson, who plays (yes, you guessed it) Me and Tartalisa rocks. It was a pleasure to listen to her recitation, her singing, and to apprehend her movement. She is an amazing theatrical presence and creative powerhouse. I hope to see her in many a New York production." - Review of "ME" - OffOffBway.com - May 15, 2008.
"The cast is uniformly strong, with a nice sense of pacing and variety as they volley Bromley's hypothetical questions. Impressive physical characterizations by Withers, Drew Cortese as Xingba, and Sarah Malinda Engelke as Baiji also stand out, along with Paula Wilson's dancing and Marshall York's singing." - Review of "ME" - Backstage - May 6, 2008
"A dozen actors perform the piece: Arthur Aulisi, Drew Cortese, Sarah Engelke, Brenda Withers, and Marshall York take the key roles in the Chinese section of the show, while Bob Laine, Annie Scott, Paula Wilson, and Josh Hartung carry the contemporary narrative. The other ensemble members—Lora Chio, Dan Renkin, and Erwin Thomas—play various roles as needed. Everyone's work here, which takes in movement and singing in many styles, is excellent." - Review of "ME" - NYTheatre.com - May 3, 2008
